Save Big with Solar Rebates

Financial incentives can cut thousands off your upfront cost — and we handle all the paperwork.

What are solar rebates?

Solar rebates are financial incentives provided by governments, utilities and other organisations to encourage the adoption of solar energy. When you book a consultation and site inspection with Solarpex, we guide you through every federal and state rebate available to finance your switch to solar power, batteries or EV charging.

Federal rebates

The Federal Government's Renewable Energy Target supports incentive programs for solar power, differentiated by installation size. These incentives are available to everyone — including those upgrading existing solar systems.

Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

  • Eligibility: systems under 100 kW, for both residential and commercial use
  • Incentive type: point-of-sale discount — you see it straight off your quote
  • Value: based on your system size and the current STC price, which is tradeable like shares
  • Location: your rebate rate is influenced by postcode — Australia is divided into five rebate zones
  • Price stability: STC prices have remained broadly stable since mid-2018, though they fluctuated significantly before that

State incentives

Depending on your state, additional rebates, interest-free loans or feed-in tariff programs may stack on top of the federal incentive. We keep track of what's current so you don't have to — your written proposal will show every rebate you qualify for, already applied.

Simplifying solar rebates

The paperwork is our job, not yours. From STC assignment forms to grid connection approvals, Solarpex completes and lodges everything as part of every installation.
